Environment
We have implemented an internal environmental management system to ensure responsible use of resources and ultra-low-carbon production.
- Solar power
With three company-owned photovoltaic systems, including battery storage, we generate over 50% of our electricity ourselves – with zero operational emissions.
- Green electricity
We source the remaining demand as certified green power from renewable energy.
- Heat pump
By switching to modern heat-pump technology (2024), we will significantly reduce our CO₂ emissions from natural gas for hot water and heating from 2025 onwards.
- Resource loops
We separate residual materials rigorously to maximise recycling rates.
- Efficient lighting
Almost all lighting has been converted to energy-efficient LEDs and occupancy sensors.
Since 2024, the emissions from our site have been accounted for by an independent specialist auditor in line with the GHG Protocol.
The emissions calculated for 2024 in accordance with the GHG Protocol correspond to annual emissions of 9.2 tons of CO2. This means that the emissions of the entire site are below the emissions of a single person with the national per capita average of 10.4 tons of CO2*.
