Climate & Resources.
Solar Power
With three company-owned photovoltaic systems, including battery storage, we generate around 60% of our electricity directly on site.
Heat Pump
By switching to modern heat-pump technology in 2024, we significantly reduce CO2 emissions from natural gas for heating and hot water from 2025 onwards.
Green Electricity
The remaining electricity demand is covered exclusively by certified green power from renewable energy sources
LED-Technology
Almost all lighting has been converted to energy-efficient LED systems with occupancy sensors.
Recycling
Residual materials are consistently separated to maximise recycling rates across our site.
GHG PROTOCOL
We measure our greenhouse gas emissions.
Taking responsibility also means transparently measuring the impact of our operations. We calculate the greenhouse gas emissions of our site in Bernau in accordance with the GHG Protocol, the internationally recognised standard for accounting for and reporting emissions.
Since 2024, a specialist external provider has prepared our emissions inventory. This gives us a reliable, comparable basis for identifying where we can make reductions.
In 2025, our site emissions (Scope 1 and 2) amounted to 3.809 kg CO₂e. Upstream and downstream emissions (Scope 3) are not included. We are happy to send you a summary of the inventory on request.
