ZSB Packaging – Certified contract filling since 1995.

A digitalisation project modernises warehouse management, batch number capture, and traceability of goods flow throughout the entire production process. Precision and traceability of every order are raised to a new level.

A productive year across three areas: tube filling is extended to include oval tubes, compressed air processing is converted to an energy-efficient system, and ZSB receives certification for the filling of organic products in accordance with EC Organic Regulation (DE-Öko-006).

The electricity required to power our machinery and plant is now sourced exclusively from carbon-neutral sources. Our natural gas requirements are met by ‘Montana-Klima-Gas’.

Three projects run in parallel: the planning and implementation of on-site power generation with energy storage, the build-out of additional automated filling capacity, and the installation of a purified water treatment system (Aqua purificata).

A second photovoltaic system with integrated battery storage is commissioned. ZSB now covers
more than 50 percent of its energy needs from its own renewable generation.

A year of multiple milestones: the compressed air system is renewed to BAFA energy efficiency criteria, a project to convert heat supply to CO2-neutral energy sources is launched, and a new filling line for liquid and viscous cosmetic products goes into operation.

Targeted investment in one of ZSB's core competencies: capacity for plastic tube filling is expanded to meet growing demand and to further underline reliability as a long-term partner.

The third expansion stage of on-site power generation is completed, achieving a self-sufficiency level of 60 to 65 percent of total electricity consumption. Central heating and hot water supply is converted to heat pump technology using the environmentally friendly refrigerant propane. Planning also begins for a further energy-efficient warehouse and production building at
Chiemgaustraße 3a.

ZSB's total emissions are fully accounted for the first time by an external auditor in accordance with the GHG Protocol. The company's carbon footprint is thereby made transparent and verifiable. Thirty years after its founding, the aspiration remains the same: take responsibility, ensure quality, shape the future.

ZSB is founded in Bernau am Chiemsee with six employees. From the very beginning, one focus is central: the professional handling of demanding cosmetic products. Initial services include
contract filling and packaging of cosmetic products in jars and bottles, as well as contract manufacturing of perfumes.

The range of services is expanded to serve a broader customer base. Filling of plastic tubes and aluminium tubes is added, as well as powder filling. The portfolio of processable packaging
formats grows significantly.

A purpose-built facility is constructed on Chiemgaustraße in Bernau am Chiemsee. The company thus creates the spatial foundation for further growth.

New production processes increase flexibility in order fulfilment. The manufacturing of sachets (four-edge sealed pouches) and the cellophaning of folding cartons are added.

TÜV Süd certifies ZSB's quality management system to DIN EN ISO 9001, the internationally recognised standard for structured and documented quality management.

A specialised ERP system is introduced, digitalising the key operational areas: production planning, warehouse and order management, quality assurance, and operational data capture. Transparency and control across all process steps are significantly improved.
2010

ZSB makes comprehensive investments in infrastructure and sustainability. A climate and ventilation system with air purification is installed throughout the production and administration areas. The DIN EN ISO 9001 certification is extended, and a photovoltaic system for independent
power generation is commissioned.

ZSB receives two significant certifications: DIN EN ISO 13485 for the manufacture and filling of topical medical devices, and DIN EN ISO 22716 for Good Manufacturing Practice in cosmetics. Both certifications stand for the same core principle: sensitive products require responsible and compliant handling.

The site on Chiemgaustraße is substantially expanded. The usable floor space doubles, a new warehouse and logistics building is erected, and generous staging areas are created. ZSB thus establishes the operational foundation for further growth.

Manufacturing capacity for sachets is expanded and the range is complemented by dual-chamber pouches. More demanding product formats can now be realised, opening up greater design options for customers.
